Falling film evaporator and its working principle

Falling film evaporator: The material liquid is added from the top of the evaporator, evenly distributed into each heat exchange tube through liquid distribution and film-forming devices and under the combined action of gravity and vacuum induction and airflow, the liquid flows in a uniform film shape from top to bottom. During the flowing process, the liquid is heated by the shell side heating medium and then vaporizes, and the generated vapor enters the separation chamber of the evaporator with the liquid and enters the next effect evaporator as the heating medium through complete separation of vapor and liquid, so as to realize multi-effect falling film operation.

The falling film evaporator is divided into single effect, double effect, three effect, four effect, five effect, six effect, etc. It is suitable for low-temperature concentration in industries such as dairy products, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and environmental engineering.

1) Falling film evaporator is able to evaporate materials with higher concentration and viscosity

2) It has high heat transfer coefficient due to the film-like flow of the solution in one-way type evaporator

3) Falling film evaporator operates under the vacuum and low temperature conditions, and it has high evaporation capacity, low energy consumption and low operational costs

4) Short residence time makes it not easy to cause material deterioration, and suitable for processing heat-sensitive materials

5) The process fluid only flows under gravity, allowing for the use of low-temperature difference evaporation

6) Avoid foam formation

7) The falling film evaporator is equipped with automatic system, feeding and discharging, heating temperature, feed concentration, system cleaning and so on which are all automatically controlled.

Applications

The falling film evaporator is widely used for the evaporation and concentration of water or organic solvent solution in medicine, food, chemical industry, light industry and other industries, and can be widely used for waste liquid treatment in the above industries.
